Are you a new dentist – less than 10 years out of dental school? The IDA and ADA provide many valuable resources for you to succeed in your practice and to interact with other young dentists.
From starting a practice to staffing and HR issues, ADA for New Dentists has a wealth of information to assist you!
The IDA currently offers new dentists a chance to meet socially at its annual conference, IDA IDEAS, at the New Dentist Social.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the IDA hosted two webinars exclusively for new dentist members to answer pressing questions and address the unique concerns facing new dentists in the "new normal" of dentistry. Both webinars are available to IDA members for free viewing on-demand:
In addition, the ADA New Dentist Committee will be launching a survey to gauge the needs of new dentists around the country during the COVID-19 pandemic. This new initiative is one of several the ADA New Dentist Committee hopes to implement this year, also including:
- Participating in American Student Dental Association district meetings to connect with dental students and support licensure efforts
- Hosting virtual programs targeted toward dental students and ASDA members through the ADA Success program
- Increasing inclusion and diversity efforts by working with the ADA Diversity & Inclusion Committee and inviting more dentists to be involved with the ADA, IDA, and New Dentist Committee specifically
The IDA New Dentist Committee is currently working on a plan to connect the network of new dentists in the state of Iowa. If you would like more information about the New Dentist Committee, please contact Dr. Justine Stemper.
