HF 2210, This bill restricts hospitals, rural emergency hospitals, and licensing boards from including questions regarding past history or diagnosis of mental illness, substance use disorders, or other physical or behavioral health conditions on clinical privileges or licensure applications. These entities may include a question regarding whether the applicant currently has any condition that is not being appropriately treated which impairs or adversely affects their ability to practice with reasonable skill and safety in a competent, ethical, and professional manner.

HF 2224, This bill would restrict the Iowa Dental Board from requiring additional anesthesia training or permits, or the presence of additional personnel as a condition for allowing a dentist to utilize moderate sedation during a procedure if an anesthesiologist, CRNA, or dentist with a proper license or permit is engaged solely in administering the moderate sedation.

HF 2486, Allows a licensee to apply continuing education (CE) in excess of the renewal requirements for the following renewal period in an amount not to exceed 50 percent of the continuing education credits required for a renewal period. The bill allows for the licensing board to specify types of CEs that may not be rolled the next renewal period. Formerly HF 2184.

HF 2488, Establishes minimum time periods that a health benefit plan (including dental insurers) has to respond to prior authorization requests.
