Get Involved with IDA!
Your voice is valuable! The best way to use your voice is as part of a committee, task force, or board. We are currently recruiting IDA members to get involved! Complete the survey below to indicate the current committees/boards or topics you are interested in by Friday, June 18. Contact the IDA staff if you have any questions regarding how you can get involved with IDA, IDPAC, or IDF.
Endorsement and Sponsorship Committee: responsible for reviewing products and services and making recommendations to the IDA Board of Trustees regarding endorsements.
Time commitment: meet virtually one to four times per year.
Legislative Committee: advise IDA regarding legislative issues and recommend legislative priorities for the next Iowa legislative session to the IDA Board of Trustees.
Time commitment: meet formally once a year, plus 30-minute weekly legislative calls on Fridays during the legislative session.
New Dentists Committee: serve as the voice of the new dentist (those in their first 10 years of practice). Comprised of members from each of the 10 Iowa District Dental Societies, with the primary purpose of advising the IDA Board of Trustees on matters relating to new dentists.
Time commitment: meet five times a year, typically the Monday evening following the IDA Board of Trustees meeting.
Program Committee: responsible for identifying speakers, exhibitors, and sponsors for the IDA Annual Session, IDEAS, held each April. IDA staff carries out the recommendations of the committee.
Time commitment: meet virtually two to three times in the summer and early fall.
IDPAC Board: responsible for overseeing the Iowa Dental Political Action Committee (IDPAC) and approving recommendations regarding contributions to candidates and those currently serving in the Iowa General Assembly.
Time commitment: meet formally once a year, plus option to join 30-minute weekly legislative calls on Fridays during the legislative session.
IDF Marketing and Fundraising Committee: responsible for identifying ways to increase recognition of the Iowa Dental Foundation and its programs, as well as determining fundraising goals and strategies for the annual donation campaigns.
Time commitment: meet formally once a year.
