Welcome to the Iowa Dental Association

The Iowa Dental Association (IDA) is the premier professional association representing dentists in the state of Iowa. In existence since 1863, the IDA is home to over 1,800 Iowa dentists, which represents approximately 80% of the licensed dentists in the state.

All IDA member dentists are not only members of the IDA, but also the American Dental Association (ADA) and their local district society.

IDA’s mission is to encourage the improvement of the health of the public, to promote the art and science of dentistry, and to represent the interests of the members of the dental profession and the public which it serves.

Dr. Carolyn Duong Receives FIND Award

carolyn duongEarlier this month, the Fulfilling Iowa's Need for Dentists (FIND) project announced its 2021 recipients, including IDA member Dr. Carolyn Duong, who serves the Muscatine and West Liberty communities. The FIND program provides funds for student loan repayment in exchange for recipients agreeing to dedicate at least 35 percent of their patient visits to underserved populations, including Medicaid-enrolled patients, over a five-year period.
"I applied to the FIND program because I knew that I wanted to live and work in Iowa long-term and was already committed to helping the underserved," Dr. Duong said. "The FIND program seemed like a great opportunity to help me keep this mission and help pay back my student loans at the same time."
