Note from IMOM 2020
After much consideration and discussion, the Iowa Dental Foundation and Iowa Mission of Mercy (IMOM) leadership have made the difficult decision to cancel IMOM 2020 on November 6 – 7. Even though we sincerely hope that we will be through the COVID-19 crisis by November in order to operate IMOM safely, we simply do not know at this point if that will be the case, or what the long-term impact may be on our communities.
Most importantly, canceling IMOM 2020 allows us to make a significant donation of our IMOM PPE inventories to healthcare workers who are in desperate need of these items as COVID-19 continues its spread throughout the state. Knowing that we could make a difference in this way is the bright spot in this unfortunate situation.
This was not an easy decision, but one that we felt was most appropriate given the circumstances. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact IDF staff.
We know how much this event means to all of our volunteers and to those facing access to care barriers within the communities hosting our IMOM events. Fortunately, we have been able to shift our event in Des Moines to next year, November 5 – 6, 2021 and hope that we can all count on you to be there with us!
