Iowa Dental Association Committee Sign Up
Thank you for your interest in joining one of the Iowa Dental Association's committees. These committees serve in an advisory capacity to the IDA staff and Board of Trustees on current matters as well as long-term strategic planning.
All committee members must be active, students, life or retired members in good standing with the Association. Committee terms will be December 2018 - May 2020 with one year appointments following.
The deadline to submit your application is November 2, 2018. Applications will be reviewed and committee members will be appointed in early December.

- New Dentist Committee advises IDA with its main focus being new dentist membership recruitment and retention. This committee will evaluate what has been working for IDA and what we can do to improve to make IDA more attractive for new dentists to join.
- Member Engagement & Marketing Committee advises on best practices to engage members with networking opportunities. This committee works with IDA staff to identify methods to increase yearly attendance and increase engagement within the Annual Session. This committee also works with IDA to streamline and digitize communications efforts.
- District Advisory Committee assists IDA in analyzing the need to consolidate or restructure districts. This committee will analyze existing district bylaws and ensure all districts have current governing documents. The committee will also evaluate the potential to partner with existing study clubs and determine if districts could implement a study club element. District representatives will collaborate with one another on best practices and areas of improvement within each district.
- Education Committee serves as the primary advisers for the IDA Annual Session and advises on best practices to engage members with educational opportunities. This committee works with IDA staff on methods to increase yearly attendance, increase engagement within the Session, and provides constructive feedback post-event. This committee serves as advisers to IDA on creating online CEUs for IDB required courses. This committee works with IDA on educational tools to offer its members year-round.
By submitting this application, you verify that upon acceptance in a committee you will actively participate in meetings, conference calls and tasks as assigned. Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee involvement in a committee; your application will be reviewed by IDA staff and the Board of Trustees. Depending on the committee, additional application materials may be required.
Committee involvement is one of the many benefits of membership and a great way to get more involved, collaborate on projects with other members and gain leadership experience.
